The business development – or sales - process starts from first contact. 

 

This often comes from your networking activities. And by this we mean “networking” in its widest sense, whether that is: using your social networking circles; attending trade shows; going to networking events such as a Chamber of Commerce lunch or a professional body evening ‘do’; speaking at conferences; getting colleagues to introduce you to the people they get work from in their specialist areas.  Whatever it is you do to expand your internal and external network of contacts.
